WWWE Logo Latency

Latency is an age-old term getting heavy use on the Internet today, where refers to the time lag introduced in interactive inputting and viewing of information such as 3-D graphics, video, sound and more. The latency introduced due to communication links produces results similar to watching a cartoon in slow and jerky motion instead of a smooth video. Latency can be caused by a number of factors such as slow communications links, poorly designed programs, and poorly designed rendering software.
